Most Aruba fishing trips are done off the southwest coast of Aruba, where the water is calmer.
The barracuda is one of the many fishes that Natasha Fishing Charters baits for, off the coast of Aruba. It is a very popular fish when it comes to fishing on Aruba because it can be found in most of the fishing spots around the island. Known by the Aruban locals as Picuda, they can be spotted near coral reefs and sea grasses when snorkeling in Aruba.
The barracuda, nicknamed the “Tiger of the Sea” is an aggressive, opportunistic predator. It relies on surprise and short bursts of speed, up to 27 mph (43 km/h), to overtake its prey.
This predator feeds on small fishes with its ferocious saber-like teeth by simply biting them in half. Barracuda are a competitive species and often are seen competing against King Mackerel and sometimes even Dolphins for prey.
